Community Health
Student Service Projects

As part of the Family Medicine/Community Health 12-week clerkship, all third-year medical students are required to develop and implement a Community Health Project. The goal of this project is to broaden students’ perspective of health care beyond the exam room and familiarize students with the process of community evaluation and intervention.

Students assess the community where they are assigned to their clerkships, identify a community health problem, define a target population, develop and implement an intervention. Some examples of the diverse and creative projects that students have completed this year are included here.
